How to Dispute a TNEB / TANGEDCO Bill
Official 4-step escalation process — consumer rights
Raise Complaint via Portal or App
Log in to the TNEB portal or app and submit a bill complaint. You will get a reference number within minutes.
Contact Section Office (AE / ADE)
Visit your Section Office with your last 3 bills. Request a meter test or bill re-assessment. They must respond within 15 days.
Approach Consumer Grievance Forum
If the section office doesn't resolve it, file at the nearest Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF). Hearing scheduled within 30 days.
Appeal to Electricity Ombudsman (TN)
If CGRF order is unsatisfactory, appeal to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) Ombudsman within 30 days.
